today all saying question not afford four more years with president obama in office. one ad targets nevada voters and features greg anthony who was born in the state. another focuses on unemployment and foreclosures in ohio. and this one. >> over $0.30 of every dollar obama spends is borrowed much of it from countries like china. he is not just wasting money, he is borrowing it and then wasting it. >> that is a huge romney talking point and really one of the only plans we have heard from him is if he is elected we'll crack down on trade. he brought that up on wednesday's debate when he said every federal program will have to pass a test. it is worth borrowing money from china to pay for it. yes, china does hold large amount of u.s. debt but its stake is only 8%. we owe two-thirds of our debt right back to the federal government. romney is also focusing on messages that president obama will raise taxes on middle class by about $4,000 per family. but the obama campaign is firing back and saying that study has nothing to do with the president's policies. fact the presi

released 11 or 12 years when he set the standard. >> if i was barack obama, i would remind the american people that we have employers who will require a drug test. we have employers that will ask for your facebook password. we have all kinds of standards that employers require of us that you would think actually seem more invasive to me rather than simply showing us that you pay taxes and you're within the law for the next 10 years or so. my personal opinion is we need a bill that says that when you take the nomination for your party, your tax returns become public records. >> i think you're right paul. i don't think that will ever happen in a free society. i don't think you can make that law in a free society. i thank you for the call. i remind you mitt romney gave john mccain 22 years of tax records which tells me he's much more enthusiastic about being vice president. it's the bill press show. we'll be right back. dose of politics from a fresh perspective. >>i'm a slutty bob hope. the troops love me. >>only on current tv. >> this is the bill press show. i'm john fugelsang. we are bac

. even if things are economically tough, we're better off than we were four years ago when we were staring into the precipice of our impending doom. second, by using facts, i tried to show their attacks on president obama's policies are simply wrong. their views about the role of government in the economy simply don't hold up under the slightest scrutiny. and third, i tried to show how our current politician and even the individual mandate for health insurance do, in fact, fit neatly into the vision of the nation as the founding fathers and our constitution. the result quite frankly was to convince not a single member of their camp. perhaps that's not surprising given the rather fractured and polarized nature of our politics but it was troubling to me. facts simply bounced off of them. in the beckian world view, fear runs rough shod over truth and absurd claims about the role of government pass off as an ideological construct. whohow do you debate that? thank goodness for the first amendment. that's my view. you'd s

there is an effort by the obama campaign to say look, you've been working on the issues for four years. you know them inside and out. you know debates. focus on trying to have a good time. enjoy yourself. both campaigns are suggesting they think that the first debate may be not so -- it may be like john mccain and barack obama four years ago. the first debate was the first letdown. a lot of wonkiness. they didn't go after each other very hard. they were a little bit nervous in feeling each other out. >> eliot: the notion they would enjoy it, i can tell you i've been through debates nothing on term with that, you don't enjoy it. there are butterflies in your stomach when you walk out there. you know the campaign potentially rests on every utterance you make. there is the his tansey -- hesitancy no matter how skilled you may be, there is a hesitancy and a fear. that's unavoidable. >> how do you deal with glenn beck who is a master of television regardless of what people may think about him. they're using a nice picture of you g
